Sheila Comer is a long-standing resident of Grant county and has been in the field of healthcare for many years. Her career as a dental assistant eventually led her to her a 6- year role in public health. She initially accepted a position as coordinator for the Healthy Smiles Dental Clinic and, in addition, also became the Grant County Tobacco Prevention and Education Program coordinator. Through this role, she learned and began to understand how issues such as substance abuse, physical and mental well-being and access to healthcare impact the community. She soon integrated into the network of local efforts and systems working to ensure and improve the health and safety of the community through her work as well as volunteer organizations such as The Safe Communities Coalition and Local Community Advisory Board. Sheila is currently employed with the Blue Mountain Hospital District where she continues to serve on the safety committee and employee wellness program. In her free time, Sheila enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters, running, camping, hiking and traveling.
